System for cooling the gas in order to separate the water vapour it contains. By cooling with the GO-PK series instruments, you get accurate measurement results and reduce washout losses.
In most cases, sample gas conditioning prior to gas analysis requires, among other measures, cooling of the gas in order to separate contained water vapour. During the cooling process, it is essential to prevent leaching losses of target substances of the gas analysis in order to obtain measurement results that are as accurate as possible.
In practice, negligible absorptions of the target substances in the precipitating condensate are to be aimed for, which are either ideally not measurable or whose magnitude is within the measuring tolerances of the analysers.
This is achieved by condensing the water vapour contained in the gas as quickly and completely as possible and immediately removing it from the further gas path. The geometry of the condensate separator / heat exchanger in the refrigeration block of a chiller is of particular importance here.
In a modification of the cyclone principle of a solids separator, the shape of the contact separator and the resulting gas flow in the GO-PK and GO-EPK sample gas coolers force the gas to come into immediate contact with the coldest part of the wall. The abrupt cooling down to approx. 5 °C causes the main amount of condensate in the lower quarter of the heat exchanger to fail. The condensate flows downwards, the sample gas continues upwards. The small inner surface and the small volume of the patented heat exchanger further contribute to reducing substance losses. The GO-PK and GO-EPK sample gas coolers can be equipped with one or two heat exchangers. The favourable designs allow easy installation in analysis cabinets, the GO-EPK model can be integrated into 19″ rack-mount housings. Both products are also an essential component of the GO-PP, GO-PKK, GO-PKF cooling systems and the GOT 1, GOE and GOM sample gas conditioning systems.
